21 Nov 1797 French privateer Marie taken by the Jason and was initially renamed Mary.

8 Dec 1797 arrived Plymouth Sound and laid up.

15 Oct 1800 Mary renamed Halifax.

Jul 1800-Dec 1801 fitted for sea at Plymouth.

25 Jul 1801 arrived Plymouth.

26 Jul 1801 departed Plymouth Sound for Halifax, N.S., with dispatches for the Governor there.

9 Sep 1801 arrived in Plymouth Sound the Halifax, from a cruise.

19 Sep 1801 departed Plymouth, the Halifax, Capt Jones, with despatches for the Channel Fleet off Brest.

22 Nov 1801 at Plymouth is is noted that the Halifax, 14, Lt J. Scott, which departed for Bantry Bay the 1st instant, had not arrived there the 12th of this month, therefore fears are entertained for her safety, as she was out in the hurricanes of the 1st and 2d of November.
