4 Mar 1799 Plymouth, the Havick, 18, and Suffisantes, 16, have received orders to cruize off the Isle of Bas.

9 Mar 1799 departed Plymouth Sound with the Telegraph for the Isle of Bas.

18 Mar 1799 the hired brig Telegraph captured the French privateer-brig Hirondelle off the Isle of Bas. I assume that the Havick may well have been in sight at the capture, as it is noted that the head money for the capture of this privateer, long in dispute with the officers and company of the two vessels, will be deposited in the Registry of the High Court of Admiralty 26 Oct 1818.

28 Apr 1799 Plymouth, came in with two French brigs, and a Danish Indiaman, the Zealand, from Tranquebar for Copenhagen.

16 May 1799 departed Plymouth Sound with a convoy, for Cork.

29 Jan 1800 the Havick re-captured the American ship Strafford, from Baltimore to London, with tobacco, &c., taken by the French privateers : cutter Grand Quinola, 14 guns, swivels and 40 men and the lugger Courageux, 5 guns, and 42 men, both taken by the Suffisante, in company.

14 May 1800 departed Plymouth Sound to join the Channel fleet, with the Atlas, Prince, Railleur and Trompeuse.

31 May 1800 Plymouth, last night the Havick. 18, came in express from sea. She made the signal of the enemy's fleet being at sea. She brought dispatches for the Admiralty, which were sent off express.

10 Jul 1800 departed Plymouth Sound with the Cambrian, and Magnificent, on a cruise.

30 Aug 1800 Plymouth, last Saturday the Havick, 18, and Suffisante, 14, fell in with a French frigate, arm�e en flute, of 18 guns, a corvette of 18 guns, and a gun brig of 14 guns, having a convoy of 14 sail with provisions and stores for the French fleet at Brest. They brought them to action in a gallant style, and drove them under the batteries near Morlaix.

23 Oct 1800 departed Plymouth Sound the Havick, 18, Captain Bartholomew, for Guernsey and Jersey.

8 Nov 1800 Jersey, the Havick, 18, was driven from her anchors on shore on the rocks, in St. Alban's bay, Jersey, and lies bilged. The officers and crew survived.

19 Nov 1800 departed Plymouth Sound for Jersey, Ambuscade, 44, to take in the stores saved from the wrecks of the Havick and Pelican, lost on that coast.

23 Nov 1800 arrived Plymouth Sound from Jersey, Ambuscade, with the officers and crews of the Havick, and Pelican, in St. Aubyn's Bay. Their description of the storm is dreadful : for nearly six hours, after all their masts were gone, they were exposed to the drifts of a sea running mountain high, which made so clear a breach over each ship, that the Officers and crews expected every moment would be their last ; providentially the tide, which had risen thirty-two feet perpendicular, suddenly receded, and the Officers and crews saved their lives, but lost ail their property. The Havick is a total wreck ; but the Pelican is towed along-side the Pier of St. Helier, though so much damaged that it is thought she cannot be repaired.
