8 Jan 1856 35 gun boats of this type ie 233-234 tons, with engines of 60 hp, are ordered to be fitted out at Woolwich, each to be armed with one 68 prd of 95 cwt and one 32 pdr of 56 cwt and two 24 pounder howitzers of brass. Per Morning Herald
