1859 Laid down as Invincible. Launched as Black Prince. See: Black Prince (1861)
14 Jan 1900 It is reported that the Invincible is to be fitted out at Portsmouth as a torpedo school, and sent to Sheerness, where classes are to be formed to relieve the pressure on the Vernon and Defiance.
