17 Jun 1900 Some correspondence has taken place between the Admiralty and Portsmouth Dockyard authorities on the slow progress which is being made on the armoured cruiser Kent. In the course of the correspondence it was pointed out to Their Lordships that, owing to the limited amount of money voted for labour on the vessel, she could not be ready for launching until September next year. The Admiralty have consequently decided to increase the amount, and have ordered that the ship must be ready for launching by February, and that a new vessel must be laid down on the slip during the current financial year.

9 Dec 1914 returned to the Falkland Islands.

8 Mat 1914 chased the Dresden, but lost her, but the chase caused the Dresden to use so much coal it was probably instrumental in her eventual destruction.
