14-20 May 1798 Involved in expedition to Ostende, supporting the army.

18 May 1799 captured the French privateer Ruse, 14 guns and 60 men, near the Scaw, North Sea.

7 Jan 1801 came into harbour at Sheerness to refit. Captain Digby of the Hecla, at Sheerness, is appointed to the Kite, in the room of Captain Lydiard, promoted post-captain.

26 Jan 1801 departed Sheerness harbour, the brig Kite.

28 Jan 1801 departed Sheerness, the Kite, Capt Digby, for N. Yarmouth.

29 Jan 1801 arrived Yarmouth.

10 Mar 1801 the North Sea Fleet has come together at N. Yarmouth, and consists of the London, and St George, 98 guns, Adm. Sir Hyde Parker having transferred his flag from the Ardent to the St George ; Monarch, Bellona, Saturn, Ramilies, Ganges, Warrior, Russell and Defence, 74 ; Veteran, Ardent, Polyphemus, Raisonable, Agamemnon, 64 ; Glatton, 54 ; Isis, 50 ; Desiree, Blanche, and Amazon frigates ; Pylades, Hyaena, Dart, and Arrow, sloops ; Harpy ; Biter, Blazer, Bruiser, Tigress, Pelter, Teazer, Hasty, Force, Sparkler Brigs ; Terror, Volcano, Explosion, Hecla, Zebra, Albion, Sulphur, and Discovery bombs ; Eling, schooner ; cutters Fox and Hazard ; and luggers Rover and Lark.

Circa 12 Mar 1801 fleet under Admiral Sir Hyde Parker and Lord Nelson, consisting of 17 ships of the line, 3 frigates, 10 gun-brigs, nearly as many bomb-ketches, with smaller vessels usually attendant on a fleet, making in the whole nearly 50 sail, got under weigh from Yarmouth Roads at the break of day, and by eight o'clock had cleared the Sands ; they directed their course to the northward, wafted by a fine breeze at S.W. as departed from Yarmouth roads for Copenhagen (Naval Chronicle). On arrival at Copenhagen supported the ships-of-the-line as required.

1 Apr 1801 arrived in Leith Roads from off Cronberg, Denmark, with about 40-50 passengers, no further hope of reaching an amicable agreement with negotiations with the Danish authorities. Hostilities were expected to commence the day after departing for Leith.

19 May 1801 departed from the Baltic for England with Lord Nelson.

18 Jun 1801 a letter of this date, received from Kioge Bay, in the Baltic, reports the presence of the following fleet, this at about the same time as Lord Nelson departed in the Kite for N. Yarmouth, V.-Adm Pole having arrived here in the Aeolus to relieve Nelson : the St George, Elephant, Defiance, Polyphemus, Edgar, Agamemnon, Defence, Adder, Aeolus, Kite, Dart, Zebra, Terror, Explosion, Sulphur, Discovery, Volcano, Hecla, Wrangler, Cracker, Safeguard, Sparkler, Attack, Tigress, Bruiser, Hasty, Biter, Otter, Force, Pleaser, Teazer.

29 Jun 1801 arrived at North Yarmouth with Adm. Lord Nelson, who went ashore to the hospital to visit the sick and wounded from the fleet, take some refreshment, and in the late afternoon departed with a company of cavalry for Lowestoffe.

Mar-Oct 1801 the Kite and Solebay in company, captured the Anton Harman ; the Kite, L'Espiegle and Cobourg in company, captured the Juffrow Catharina ; the Kite captured the Hull of the Jonge Hermanns.

6 Jul 1801 departed N. Yarmouth on a cruise.

21 Jul 1801 arrived N. Yarmouth from the Baltic.

27 Jul 1801 departed N. Yarmouth to the fleet off Goree.

20 Aug 1801 sent into N. Yarmouth the Prince Earl, Sostrun, from Abo, to Amsterdam, with potash, detained by the Kite, Capt Digby.

24 Aug 1801 arrived N. Yarmouth the Carl Johannes, Norburg, from Carlscrone to Amsterdam, sent in by the Kite.

26 Aug 1801 arrived N. Yarmouth the Maria Catharina, Reels, with linseed, from Croningsburg to Amsterdam, sent in by the Kite.

14 Sep 1801 arrived N. Yarmouth the Jonge Harmanes, Klaas Artis, from Riga with goods for Rotterdam ; and the De Jonge Hendryks, R. Jainson, from Petersburgh to Amsterdam, with goods, sent in by the Kite.

7 Oct 1801 arrived N. Yarmouth from from a cruise.

14 Oct 1801 departed N. Yarmouth on a cruise.

29 Oct 1801 arrived in N. Yarmouth Roads.

22 Nov 1801 remains in N. Yarmouth Roads with the Blenheim and fleet. Wind NNW.

20 Dec 1801 remains in N. Yarmouth Roads with the Blenheim, Adm. Dickson, and his squadron.

21 Dec 1801 departed N. Yarmouth Roads for Leith, with the sloop Favourite.

20 Apr 1802 departed N. Yarmouth to the Nore, to be paid off.

22 Apr 1802 arrived Sheerness from Yarmouth.

Circa 25 May 1802 Capt Pipon apptd to the Kite.

Circa 7 Aug 1802 has, with the Harpy, been apptd to patrol the waters between Shetland and the Frith of Forth.

2 Dec 1802 departed N. Yarmouth.

3 Dec 1802 arrived Sheerness.

7 Jan 1803 came down from the River to the Downs, and detained by contrary winds.

9 Jan 1803 departed the Downs for Portsmouth with supernumerary seamen for the Donegal.

10 Jan 1803 arrived at Spithead.

23 Jan 1803 remains at Spithead.

26 Jan 1803 has had to send 22 of her ship's company to Haslar Hospital, ill of a fever, which they apparently caught from the supernumerary seamen they recruited for the Donegal.

14 Mar 1803 departed Spithead this evening for Yarmouth to impress seamen ; but did not detail which Yarmouth.

2 Apr 1803 arrived Sheerness the Kite, Capt Pipon.

24 Apr 1803 arrived at the Little Nore.

25 Apr 1803 departed the Little Nore for the Great Nore.

9 May 1803 on Saturday evening departed Sheerness the Raisonable, with the sloops Lark and Kite, but returned and arrived here again this day, owing to the Raisonable meeting with some accident in the Swin.

20 May 1803 came down to the Downs from the Nore, in the Kite, Sir James Saumarez, to hoist his flag on board the Grampus, and command a cruising squadron off the Coast of France. The Topaze, Capt Lake, at Portsmouth, is ordered to join the squadron.

12 May 1803 arrived N Yarmouth Roads, from a cruise.

13-15 Sep 1803 bombardment of Granville, on the French coast.

Circa 26 May 1804 at Portsmouth it is reported that the Kite, had 3 of her men killed and 7 or 8 wounded, out of 28 employed, when an attempt was made to cut out a French lugger, the master of the Kite being one of those who was wounded.
