4 Jan 1871 Medusa sails shortly from Devonport, for the Clyde, to bring back the Kite and Bustard, twin screw gunboats of 245 tons, 28 h.p., and built by Messrs. Robert Napier and Sons, of Glasgow.

19 Mar 1871 had arrived at Devonport from the Clyde.

13 Apr 1871 carried out machinery trials inside the breakwater at Plymouth.

1879 Portsmouth.

1890 Portsmouth. Tender to Excellent.

Aug 1914 Portsmouth. Tender to Excellent.

Became a dredger.

1919 Old Blazer Bloodhound, Banterer (ex Plucky), Bustard, Kite, &c., still exist, but are only used for subsidiary duties.
