1 Jan 1799 building at Jacob's Yard, Milford.

1799 The replacement of long-guns by carronades meant that the Lavinia, originally designed as a 40 gun frigate, was to be armed with additional carronades, making a total of 50 guns, thus making a nonsense of the rating system.

May 1805 building

23 Feb 1808 detached to gain intelligence on a French fleet under M. Ganteaume, in the Mediterranean.

28 Jul 1809 a part of a large fleet which departed from the Downs, with troops, with the aim of demolishing the dock-yards, and arsenals at Antwerp, Terneuse, and Flushing, often known as the ill-fated Walcheren Expedition. 11 Aug a part of a squadron of frigates to sound and buoy the Baerlandt channel.

Portsmouth 5 Jan 1810 departed for the Mediterranean.

24 June 1811 Reported to be off Toulon.

Portsmouth 8 Jan 1813 arrived from Lisbon.

Plymouth 19 Jan 1813 Went up the harbour to be refitted.
