Disposal Details : Wrecked near Carthagena, South America : crew saved, but made prisoners. Captain Cornelius Quinton.
Notes:

22 Jun 1796 in latitude 48� 30' N, longitude 8� 28' W., the capture of the French frigate L�g�re by the Apollo and Doris, Captains John Manley and the Honourable Charles Jones. The L�g�re was taken into the RN under her present name.

1 Jan 1799 Capt. Cornelius Quinton. In the West Indies.

12 Feb -30 Mar 1799 the Legere and Pelican, captured 1 merchant vessel whilst under the command of the CinC at Jamaica.

Jan or Feb 1800 captured the French privateer Petite Victoire off Porto Rico.

11 Sep 1800 supposed to be on the Lisbon, Gibraltar, and Mediterranean Station, but from the above seems a little unlikely (Lt Geo Langford).

8 July 1801 a Court-Martial was held at Port Royal, Jamaica, on Captain Quinton, the officers, and crew, of His Majesty's ship la Legere, which sprung a leak, near Carthagena, and run ashore to preserve the lives of the crew, they were all acquitted.

5 Aug 1914 left Harwich as a part of the 3rd Flotilla, under the command of the Amphion, to carry out a search and sweep for enemy craft - Königen Louise sunk - see p. 132 www.naval-review.org/issues/1917.pdf.

17 Oct 1914 Undaunted, accompanied by Lance, Lennox, Legion and Loyal, on patrol off the Dutch coast chased and sank the German destroyers S.115, S.119, S.118, and S.117 - see p. 140 www.naval-review.org/issues/1917.pdf.

6 Aug 1918 torpedo tubes damaged when Amphion exploded.
