1813 some comments on the design and building of the Forth, Liffey, Severn, Glasgow, and Liverpool.

26 Jul 1814 came down from the River and passed through the Downs for Portsmouth.

11 Aug 1814 Portsmouth, appointed to the Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Quebec convoy.

22 Aug 1814 departs Spithead tomorrow with the convoy for Quebec, wind permitting.

1 Sep 1814, departed Spithead with the convoy for Quebec and Halifax.

14 Oct 1814, arrived Halifax, some vessels from the convoy which departed Portsmouth 1 Sep., under the protection of the Liffey and Raven.

1 Dec 1814 arrived Portsmouth from Quebec.

25 May 1815 departed Falmouth with sealed orders to the westward.

10 Jan 1819 departed Deal for Portsmouth to prepare for a passage to Lisbon.

26 Sep 1819 departed Portsmouth for Leith.

30 Dec 1819 at Spithead, having inspected some new sights for the cannon on board the Leander, the Duke of Clarence, with his son, Capt. FitzClarence, went on board the Liffey, prior to returning to Portsmouth harbour.

14 Sep 1820 departed Portsmouth to Lisbon.

6 Oct 1821 came into harbour from Spithead, to be paid off, and re-commissioned for service on the East Indies station.

12 Mar 1822 is preparing for service in the East Indies.

18 Mar 1822 is due to go out to Spithead to continue her preparation for service in the East Indies.

25 Mar 1822 at Spithead awaiting orders.

1824 - 1826 Burmese War - medal awarded to surviving officers, seamen, and marines - "India, No. 1" that decoration, with clasp for "Ava"). See also p. 238-> at www.archive.org/details/royalnavyhistory06clow.

5 May 1824 the Burmese War - Sophie, Liffey, and Larne - departed from Port Cornwallis for Rangoon, the principal point of attack, in the first instance, with four of the company's cruisers, under Captain Henry Hardy and other vessels, including the steam-vessel Diana, where they arrived on the 10th, and the attack was launched on the 11th.

31 May 1824 the Burmese War - Commodore Grant, indisposed and left Rangoon, leaving Captain Marryat in command.

Aug 1824 following ships composed the naval force in India : Tees (26 guns), Alligator (28), Slaney (20), Arachne (18), Larne (20), Sophie (18), Liffey (50), commanded, pro tem., by Lieutenant George Tincombe. Of this force only the Larne was at Rangoon, the Sophie having been despatched to Bengal for provisions, &c.

2 Sep 1824 On the death of Commodore Grant, Captain Coe assumed the command of the Liffey.

17 Oct 1825 Was daily expected Cape of Good Hope on her passage from India.

14 Nov 1825 assisted the Isabella, lost her three top masts in a gale in the Mozambique Channel.
