24 Jun 1797 captured the French privateer Flibustier on the West Indies station.

1 Jan 1799 Capt. R. Donelly. On the Jamaica station.

Between 12 Feb and 15 Apr 1799 captured a French privateer, name unknown, on the Jamaica station.

Portsmouth circa 23 Jan 1800 having recently returned from the West Indies has now moved into the harbour from Spithead for a refit.

11 Apr 1800 Portsmouth, the Haarlem, Captain Burlton, and Maidstone, Captain Donnelly, went out of the harbour to Spithead.

12 Apr 1800 a court martial was held on board the Gladiator, on Mr. Joseph Trevenor, Boatswain, of the Maidstone, for drunkenness and neglect of duty. He was found guilty and dismissed his ship, and incapable of serving as an officer in HM Navy.

19 Apr 1800 appointed to take next convoy to Halifax.

3 May 1800 Portsmouth, departed with the Santa Margarita, and a convoy for Quebec and Halifax; and the Voltigeur, Captain Shortland, with several ships for Newfoundland.

16 Sep 1800 Portsmouth, arrived with a convoy from Quebec.

7 Dec 1800 Portsmouth, departed with the SeaHorse, Pique, Harpy, store-ships Chichester and Serapis, and 317 sail of merchantmen under convoy, for Lisbon, Oporto, and the Mediterranean.

10 Dec 1800 Plymouth, passed by to Westward, the immense large convoys for Oporto, the Straits, Lisbon, and the West Indies, nearly 550 sail, under convoy of the Seahorse, 36, Maidstone 32, Alliance, 44, Chichester, 44, Serapis, 44, La Pique, 44, Harpy, 18, and Dromedary 34 ; a dead calm took them aback off the Edystone, and the whole horizon was covered with the floating commerce of Albion's proud Isles. The fog cleared off about noon, and presented with the setting sun, a spectacle from the high points of land, round this port, at once grand, picturesque, and interesting to every lover of his country's commerce and welfare. The wind sprung up at E S E and they went clean off the Dedman by day-break on the 11th.

19 Jan 1801 departed Falmouth with the Maidstone and a convoy for Lisbon and the Mediterranean, but were obliged to return due to contrary winds ; but, judging from the destination of the convoy in the next item, perhaps the Mediterranean is a little doubtful, although some convoys were made up of several convoys, which would divide as they progressed along their passage, and looking at where the Chichester and Alliance ended up, perhaps a part of the convoy was destined for the Med.

24 Jan 1801 the Seahorse departed Falmouth with the Maidstone, Chichester, and Alliance storeships, and the Fly, sloop of war, and a convoy for India and Africa.

16 Feb 1801 arrived in the Tagus at Lisbon the packet Earl Gower, Capt Marston, and whilst there the Maidstone, Chichester, and Seahorse arrived with part of a convoy.

1 Mar 1801 per the packet Prince Adolphus, arrived Falmouth 14 Mar., she reports that the Seahorse, Chichester and Maidstone departed the Tagus with their convoys for Oporto and Gibraltar.

12 Apr 1801 arrived Plymouth Sound the Eliza, Eliza and Jane, and Lardford from Oporto, with wines, part of 126 sail of vessels from that port with 3500 pipes ot port, under convoy of the Maidstone ; they left Oporto the 27th ult. the remainder passed up all well last night for the Downs.

13 Apr 1801 arrived Spithead with her convoy from Oporto and Lisbon.

20 Apr 1801 departed Spithead with the Brilliant, and a convoy, including ships from Oporto, for the Downs.

22 Apr 1801 put back to Spithead with the convoy due to contrary winds.

1 May 1801 departed Spithead on a cruise.

1 Jul 1801 arrived Spithead with the Resistance, from a cruise off Havre.

21 Jul 1801 departed Spithead on a cruise off Havre.

1 Aug 1801 arrived the Danish ship Maria Elizabeth, Swale, master, from Christiana, detained by the Maidstone as she was going into Cherbourg.

10 Aug 1801 is is reported that the Maidstone, Capt Donnelly, remains off Cherbourg.

14 Sep 1801 arrived Spithead the Maidstone frigate, from a cruise off Cherbourg.

16 Sep 1801 departed Spithead, to resume her station off Cherbourg.

22 Oct 1801 arrived Spithead from off Cherbourg.

8 Nov 1801 is flying a signal for a convoy for the West Indies at Spithead.

14 Nov 1801 departed Spithead, for Torbay with seamen for the Channel Fleet.

19 Nov 1801 arrived Spithead from Torbay.

22 Jan 1802 departed Spithead for Marcou.

25 Jan 1802 arrived Spithead the Maidstone frigate, Captain Mowbray, from Marcou.

2 Apr 1802 departed Spithead through the Needles with dispatches for Sir James Saumarez, at Gibraltar, in the Straights.

Circa 1 May 1803 when the Juno arrived Gibraltar the Maidstone, Victorieuse, and Bittern were lying there.

21 Jul 1803 the Triumph arrived off Gibraltar in 12 days from the fleet off Toulon. Lord Nelson joined the fleet, 2 days before they sailed, with the Maidstone, Medusa, and Amphion. The Medusa saw the Victory off Sicily on her way to Malta. The fleet were all well ; they had two gales, one of which sprung the bowsprit of the Triumph, and hence her arrival her for repairs. The Doris departs Gibraltar to day to join Adm Campbell off Cadiz. 25 Jul 1803 this letter goes with the Victorieuse, which departs for England with dispatches.

Circa 14 Jan 1804 the Hon Capt G Elliott apptd to the Maidstone, vice Mowbray, apptd to the Active.

11 Jul 1804 ships' boats capture a settee and burn others.

3 Nov 1804 arrived at the Motherbank, off Ryde Isle of Wight, for quarantine, from Gibraltar and the Mediterranean, the Narcissus, Capt Donnelly, and the Maidstone, bringing melancholy reports of the fever at Gibraltar, the daily number of deaths having increased to 122.

12 Nov 1804 departed the Motherbank, the Maidstone, Narcissus, and 7 transports, for Standgate Creek to perform quarantine.

Circa 1 Dec 1804 the Maidstone, Narcissus and transports have now been released from quarantine at Standgate Creek.

1805 Chatham, to repair in Ordinary.
