Post Office Packets.

Notes:

14 Sep 1801 newspapers report that Lords Hobart and Pelham have determined that in future the post office packets shall not be detained for any Government despatches, but proceed to sea with their mails on the days appointed for sailing. This regulation has been much desired by commercial interests, and will be most acceptable to them.
