14 Sep 1801 newspapers report that an Order in Council has been published stating that in future, when ships or vessels arrive at any out port with officers bearing despatches for Government, from Egypt, or any port of the Streights, the officer charged with despatches is to be permitted to land, providing the Inspecting Officer of Health certifies that the crew are healthy.

28 Aug 1841 Captain Francis E. Loch, appointed to be superintendent of the Quarantine establishment at Stangate-creek ;

4 Sep 1841 Portsmouth, Captain F. E. Loch was entertained at a farewell dinner, on Tuesday last, on board the Victory.
