Notes:

Sep 1914 following the loss of the Pegasus at Zanzibar her crew were transferred ashore, where a naval barracks was opened, along with a workshop and store with lighters, tugs, etc. The European hospital was also taken over as a naval hospital, which all proved most useful to the squadron based on the East coast of Africa.
