Sep 1793 Sent from Toulon to Corsica, with a squadron under Commodore Robert Linzee, with a view to supporting a supposed insurrection.

1 Oct 1793 Unsuccessful attack on Forneilli.

9 Dec 1795 taken by three French frigates at Smyrna, and retaken by the Egmont, Capt. Sutton, near Tunis, 8 Mar 1796.

Oct/Nov 1795 M. Ganteaume arrived in the Levant with his squadron, where he captured a great many merchant vessels, and, at the port of Smyrna, released the frigate Sensible, and corvette Sardine with her prize, the late British frigate Nemesis, Captain Samuel Hood Linzee, until now blockaded by the Aigle and Cyclops.

9 Mar 1796 boats of a squadron, including the Barfleur, Egmont and Bombay Castle, retake the 28-gun frigate Nemesis from Tunis harbour.

21 Dec 1799 Portsmouth, arrived the Nemesis, and Atalante, from a cruise.

12-13 Jan 1800 the frigate Nemesis, sloop Savage, lugger Nile, cutters Narcissus, Union, and Stag in sight of or involved in the capture of the French Privateer lugger Le Renard, 14 guns, 2 swivels, and 65 men, Jean Jacque Fourmintin, Master, Privateer lugger Le Modere, and recapture of the English brig Atlas, from Lisbon ; the Nile then being posted off Calais, and the Union off Boulogne, whilst the Nemesis repaired to the Downs with the prizes and the commanding officer wrote his report of the events to the CinC there.

27 Jun-8 Jul 1800 involved in the operation to capture the French frigate D�sir�e from Dunkerque harbour and burn other vessels. The D�sir�e was subsequently purchased into the Service.

25 Jul 1800 problems with neutral states and a diplomatic breakdown involving the Danish 40-gun 18-pounder frigate Freya and her convoy. See also Naval Chronicle, vol 4, p 157.

11 Dec 1800 Portsmouth, arrived with the Eliza, Ann, and Mornington, East Indiamen, under convoy, from the Downs.

8 Jan 1801 a ship's boat is reported to have upset off Deal when returning on board, reason unknown, and it is understood that 7 men were drowned.

24 Jan 1801 departed the Downs for Spithead with a N.E. wind and snow, in company with the store ship Woolwich and hired armed ship Mentor and a large convoy with ships for the East Indies, amongst others, arriving Spithead later in the day.

28 Nov 1801 the Nemesis, frigate ; Arrow, sloop ; Charger, gun-brig ; and Ranger store brig, during the NNE severe gale last night, drove out of the Downs.

30 Nov 1801 the Nemesis arrived back in the Downs, with the Arrow, and Charger, and remains with the Overyssel, Amazon, Alkmaar, Medusa, Brilliant, Jamaica ; Gannet, and Galgo.

10 Dec 1801 remains in the Downs a dozen RN vessels accompanied by a number of East Indiamen ; wind West, moderate.

15 Jun 1802 departed Spithead the Nemesis, 28, Captain Somerville, for Milford.

17 Jul 1802 it is reported from Milford Haven that when getting under way at about 11.00 am this morning the Seagull went aground on a sand bank as the tide went out, and may have been lost, but for the timely assistance of the frigate Nemesis, sloop Spitfire, and an unnamed gun brig, who got her shored up whilst she was water born, and at 4 pm, as the tide returned she was floated off without any damage.

10 Nov 1802 arrived Plymouth from Milford for repairs having sprung her bowsprit on her last cruise in the Irish Channel. She took a pilot on board off Cawsand Bay and went through the Sound, directly into Hamoaze to make good her damage.

28 Nov 1802 arrived Plymouth Sound the Nemesis, 32, Captain Somerville, to repair the damages she sustained in a late gales, having sprung her bowsprit : she went up the harbour directly, and is to go into dock the first tide.

30 Nov 1802 went into dock, to be covered and new coppered, and to have damages experienced in gales to be made good.

10 Dec 1802 remains in dock at Plymouth, the Tonnant, 84 ; Mars, 74 ; Terrible, 74 ; Impetueux, 84 ; Fisgard, 48 ; and Nemesis, 32.

30 Dec 1802 saw out the storm last night in Plymouth Sound having out 3 cables an end, yards and top-masts struck.

4 Jan 1803 departed Plymouth the Nemesis, 32, Capt P Somerville, for Milford Haven to recruit seamen.

Circa 24 Jan 1803 only 15 men had been recruited to the squadron, including the Nemesis, and Spitfire.

13 Feb 1803 arrived Plymouth Sound from a cruise, made a signal, and went up into the harbour.

15 May 1803 arrived Plymouth from a cruise off Brest, Ushant, and the Saintes ; the Nemesis and Atalanta during which they watched the movements of vessels on the other side of the Channel.

12 Jun 1803 arrived Plymouth last evening with four French prizes : 2 West India ships from the West Indies ; a brig with cotton ; and a schooner from Cayenne, with sundries. Also landed 100 French prisoners from the Fleet, who were marched to the Mill prison.

27 Jun 1803 a court martial was held on board the Gladiator, at Portsmouth, on Mr D Lawson, Carpenter of the Nemesis, for drunkenness, and the charge being proved he was dismissed the service.

6 Jul 1803 arrived Falmouth, and is reported to be based at Falmouth whilst also cruising the coastline between Portland and the Start Point.

12 Jul 1803 the Nemesis frigate captured off Portland a French lugger privateer, and recaptured an English brig which the privateer had taken.

7 Aug 1803 arrived Torbay the Nemesis and departed again last evening in a great hurry, accompanied by a lot of signals, apparently caused by a number of ships not shewing their signals or numbers. Similar problems were caused off the Isle of Wight by a fleet of coasters and American vessels failing to identify themselves recently, which ended up keeping the residents of Portsmouth awake for much of the night.

4 Sep 1804 arrived Spithead from a 4 months cruise.

17 Sep 1804 departed Spithead for the Channel Fleet.

12 Dec 1804, at Brixham, it is reported that the Channel Fleet had arrived, including the : Ville de Paris, Prince George, Defiance, Britannia, Windsor Castle, Plantagenet, Goliath, Princess Royal, Thunderer, Courageaux, Dragon, and Warrior, joining the Atlas, Temeraire, and Nemesis, which were here. No officers allowed ashore which caused some disappointment to the trades people.

Circa 22 Dec 1804 in a gale Thursday last, in Torbay, apprehensions were entertained for the safety of the Nemesis, then labouring in tremendous seas. It was later reported that she managed to make her mooring eventually and is now safe.

22 Jul 1810 Belvidera and Nemesis, close in-shore of Studtland, coast of Norway, the ships' boats captured two gun-schooners and destroyed another.

25 Oct 1811 arrived Plymouth Dock from off L'Orient.

23 Dec 1811 arrived Falmouth from Lisbon (19 Dec) with a convoy.

11 Oct 1812 arrived Spithead yesterday with dispatches, from the Mediterranean.

5 Nov 1812 Has received troops onboard and will depart Spithead tomorrow for Corunna.

6 Nov 1812 departed Spithead with a detachment of Marines.

17 Nov 1812 at Falmouth 3 transports, a part of the Nemesis's convoy, from which they parted a few days since, await another convoy.

29 Mar 1813 arrived Plymouth last week from Portsmouth to convey Marines to Canada.

20-25 Jun 1813 San-Domingo, Diadem, Mohawk and Nemesis a part of a squadron carrying troops anchored some distance off Craney island, with a view to carrying out operations ashore.

11-13 Jul 1813 a part of a squadron bringing troops to take Ocracoke, on the North-Carolina coast, during which the Atlas and the Anaconda, both letters of marque, were captured and subsequently taken into the Service, the Anaconda, by her own name, and the Atlas, by the name of St.-Lawrence.

14 Sep 1813, Nemesis, Capt. Hon. Maude, arrived Halifax, with the squadron from the Chesapeake.

1-2 Oct 1813 the Nemesis departed with the Fox, and Success, from Halifax, for Quebec, with the 2nd Battalion of Royal Marines.
