13 Apr 1797 Pearl and Flora captured the French privateer Incroyable on the passage between Lisbon, and England.

24 Apr 1798 escaped from the French frigates R�g�n�r�e and Vertu near Sierra-Leone.

10 Oct 1798 destroyed a French privateer, name unknown, under Dominica.

14 Oct 1798 captured the French privateer Scaevola off Antigua.

Between 7 Nov and 10 Dec 1798 captured the French privateer Independence on the Leeward Island station.

1 Jan 1799 Capt. S. J. Ballard. On the Africa station.

The [merchant] fleet which departed from the Leeward Islands 9 May 1799 under convoy of the Vengeance, Pearl, and Perdrix, consisted as follows :� 123 sail for London, 93 for Liverpool, 18 for Bristol, 23 for Scotland, 8 for Lancaster, 7 for Ireland, 18 for America, 1 for Africa, and 9 transports, making in all 260. The whole of the vessels for England, Scotland, and Ireland, without exception, are safely arrived.

12 Jul 1799 Plymouth, came in from Portsmouth.

14 Jul 1799 Plymouth, arrived the Pearl, 34, from Portsmouth, with the Melpomene.

9 Oct 1799 Portsmouth, appointed to take General Fox to Minorca, and will sail at soon as the wind permits.

17 Oct 1799 Portsmouth, departed with General Fox, for Minorca.

9 Feb 1800 chased and forced on shore off Narbonne a Genoese ship polacre, 14 guns, where she was lost ; and her crew were able to step from the vessel on shore, and the few settees she had under convoy got into Adge.

15 Feb 1800 at Port Mahon.

20 Jul 1800 off Couronne, the ship's boats captured two Spanish xebecs, one mounting eight guns, and six settees, mostly armed and deeply laden.

23 Jul 1800 off Mahon with 5 of the prizes, 3 having been scuttled owing to a gale coming on, by which, James Parker, a seaman, was drowned, and the the yawl also sunk.

31 Aug 1800 captured on the Mediterranean Station 2 French Settees, Names unknown, laden with Earthenware, from Marseilles : the Settee La Gloire, in Ballast : and the Spanish Settee, Name unknown, in Ballast.

11 Oct 1800 scuttled on the Mediterranean Station the French Settee, (Name unknown,) laden with Coals, from Bone bound to Marseilles : burnt a French Settee, Name unknown, laden with empty Casks, from Bone to Marseilles : and captured the French Ketch La Virge de Bon Secure, laden with Brandy and Wine, from Adge bound to Nice.

14 Oct 1800 captured on the Mediterranean Station the Genoese Ship Saint Juan, laden with Oil, Lemons, and empty Casks, from Bone bound to Cette : and the Genoese Ship, (Name unknown,) laden with Oil, Lemons, and empty Casks, from Bone bound to Cette.

15 Oct 1800 captured on the Mediterranean Station the French Settee La Virge Rosaria, laden with Oil, from Nice bound to Agde : the French Settee St. Joseph, laden with Tanners' Bark and Oil. from Nice bound to Adge : the French Settee, (Name unknown,) in Ballast, from Nice bound to Adge : and burnt the Fiench Settee, (Name unknown) with Oil, from Nice bound to Adge.

16 Nov 1800 captured on the Mediterranean station, the Danish Brig Pelican, laden with Provisions, Bale Goods, &c. from Amsterdam and Malaga bound to Leghorn.

28 Feb 1801 the Genoese ship Virgo Potens, from Marseilles bound to Genoa, laden with salt and merchandize ; taken by the Pearl and Santa Teresa.

28 Feb 1801 the French tartan La Virge, from Marseilles bound to Genoa, in ballast : scuttled by the Pearl and Santa Teresa.

28 Feb 1801 a Genoese tartan, (name unknown,) from Marseilles to Genoa, laden with corn ; sunk, part of her cargo saved by the Pearl and Santa Teresa.

8 Mar to 2 Sep 1801 Off the coast of Egypt.

20 Mar 1801 the French ship La Julie Rosalie, from Toulon bound to Alexandria, laden with sundry merchandize and provisions; taken by La Minerve, Pearl, and Santa Teresa.

7 Apr 1801 a letter from the Swiftsure off Alexandria commences : "We have, in our endeavours to keep off the shore, been obliged to carry sail to such a degree as nearly to tear our ships to pieces ; and we received further proof of the impossibility of forming an effectual blockade of any port, even in this fine country. On the night of our return from the offing we spoke the Pearl frigate, bringing us advice of the sailing of a French squadron of 7 sail of the line, a frigate, 2 sloops, and 2 store ships, for this place, having 7,000 troops, and 3 generals on board. Lord Keith has been busy preparing the Stately for the line, and our force now consists of the Foudroyant, 84 ; Tigre, 80 ; Ajax, Northumberland, Swiftsure, Kent, and Minotaur, 74 ; Stately, 64, and several small vessels.

30 Apr 1801 the French aviso La Prevoyant, from Ancona ; taken by the Pearl, Petterell, and Victorieuse.

25 Jun 1801 the Genoese tartan Alcmeone Pion, from Palermo bound to Leghorn, laden with allum and wool ; taken by Pearl.

25 Jun 1801 the Neapolitan brig Jem, Maria, Guiseppo, from Palermo bound to Leghorn, laden with wine, oils, &c. supposed to be French preperty ; taken by the Pearl.

28 Jun 1801 the Neapolitan tartan St. Michael L' Ami del Purgatoria, from Naples bound to Mahon, laden with wine ; taken by Pearl, June 28, having no proper papers.

28 Jun 1801 the Neapolitan brig La Madone Adollaratta St. Michael, from Naples bound to Porto Ferrajo, laden with corn and wine ; taken by Pearl, 28 Jun., having no proper papers.

29 Jun 1801 cruising off Alexandria, per UK newspapers of this date, reporting news received from off Egypt.

8 Aug 1801 the frigates Ph�nix, Pomone, and Pearl, captured the Carr�re, a Venetian-built frigate of 1013 tons sailing under French colours, which was added to the British navy as an 18-pounder 36-gun frigate.

13-14 Sep 1801 men from the ship's company involved in operations ashore at Porto-Ferrajo.

3 Dec 1801 arrived Spithead the Pearl, from the Mediterranean.

15 Dec 1801 at Portsmouth, the frigates Aurora, Pearl, Cleopatra and Caroline, with several gun-vessels are ordered to be paid off at this port.

20 Dec 1801 came into Portsmouth harbour the Pearl, Capt Ballard, to be paid off.

27 Mar 1803 is now being fitted out as a slop ship at Portsmouth.

27 Jun 1803 Lieut Woodyear is apptd to the Pearl slop ship at Portsmouth, vice Bayley.

2 Aug 1803 a court martial was held on board the Gladiator, at Portsmouth, on Evan Griffiths, a marine, belonging to the Pearl, for disobedience of orders, when the charge was proved and he was sentenced to received 50 lashes.

4 Nov 1803 a court martial was held on Mr B Murray, boatswain of the Pearl, for improper conduct, and the charge being proved he was sentenced to be reduced as an officer to serve as a seaman on board such ship as the Commander in Chief shall direct.

Circa 8 Dec 1804 Mr Weymouth, of Portsea, apptd surgeon of the Pearl.
