3 Apr 1841 Assistant-Surgeon Robert M'Crae, late of the Winchester, appointed to the Pilot (vice A. Lyon, deceased), and promoted to surgeon ;

3 Apr 1841 Second Master W. Jefferey (late Serpent), appointed to the Pilot (vice W. Langdon, deceased), and promoted to the rank of master ;

30 Jun 1841 departed Barbadoes for Halifax with the officers and men of HM schooner Skipjack, recently lost on the Caymans, and were rescued by the Hornet.

2 Oct 1841 Mate Henry William Hire (of the Pilot) promoted to Lieutenant.

15 Nov 1841 departed Vera Cruz for Campeachy, with a view to resolving the problems that currently exist between Mexico and Campeachy.

9 Dec 1841 at Tampico, shipping $700,000 of specie for Jamaica and Barbadoes.

4 Jan 1842 arrived Jamaica, from Vera Cruz, with $700,000 specie.

17 Jan 1842 departed Jamaica for Barbadoes.

27 Feb 1842 arrived Halifax from Jamaica with specie.

12 Apr 1842 departed Jamaica for Honduras.

21 Apr 1842 remained at Bermuda on the departure of the Comus for England.

24 Apr 4842 departed Bermuda for Central America.

31 Jul 1842 arrived Havannah from Belize.

24 Aug 1842 at Jamaica, and reported to be under orders to depart for Halifax.

28 Aug 1842 departed Jamaica for Nassau and Halifax.

1 Oct 1842 at Halifax when the Volcano and Resistance departed for England, and would depart for Bermuda mid October with the rest of the squadron on their annual migration south to the West Indies for the Winter months.

18 Oct 1842 remains at Halifax.

2 Nov 1842 at Bermuda.

22 Nov 1842 salvage money of �150 awarded to the crew of the pinnace of the Pilot, who assisted the merchant vessel Victoria, then in distress in the Gulf of Mexico, by assisting her crew take her to Vera Cruz, Mexico, per Admiralty Court of 22 Nov 1842.
