1870 Portsmouth, building

2 Jan 1871 arrived at Devonport from Portsmouth, (tender to the Cambridge).

27 Mar 1871 departed Devonport with the Prince Albert to carry out gunnery trials. She was armed with the latest 10 inch, 18 ton, Fraser gun, which are to be fitted to the Kite and Bustard.

1879 Devonport. Tender to the gunnery school at Devonport, HMS Cambridge.

NL 1890 Tender to the gunnery school at Devonport, HMS Cambridge : Gunner R.J. Outfin, joined 3 Feb 1890, borne on the books of the Cambridge.

Oct 1892, the Admiralty have awarded Mrs. Hisbent, whose husband was killed in the Plucky gunboat disaster off Plymouth, �600, which is to be vested in trustees for the benefit of the widow and five children.

1914 Portsmouth. Tender to Dryad.

1915 renamed Banterer

1919 Banterer (ex Plucky), used for subsidiary duties.
