Notes:

1793 a part of the first squadron on the Newfoundland station following the outbreak of war.

1793 is reported to have captured the French vessel La Lutin, of 16 guns and 70 men without suffering any casualties.

14 Dec 1802 arrived Spithead the Pluto sloop of war, Captain Barwell, from Newfoundland.

27 Dec 1802 departed Spithead to the Eastward, to be paid off.

C 15 Aug 1803 Capt Forbes apptd to the Pluto.

3 Oct 1803 arrived Sheerness, from the Downs.

11 Oct 1803 departed the Downs on a cruise.

19 Oct 1803 arrived in Dover Roads from off Dungeness, and anchored, with rumours from France that the accommodation for the French troops on the opposite coast, many sleeping in tents, are to be given more permanent accommodation, in the form of huts, before winter arrives.

21 Oct 1803 arrived in the Downs from Dover Roads.

25 Oct 1803 departed the Downs for Spithead.

15 Dec 1803 remains in the Downs.

8 Jan 1804 arrived Spithead from off Havre, the Pluto, Captain Forbes.

27 Jan 1804 departed Spithead, the Tribune, Capt Bennet ; Pluto, Capt Forbes ; and Busy, Capt Clinch, to cruise off Havre.

3 Apr 1804 arrived Spithead from a cruise off Havre.

14 Apr 1804 has come into Portsmouth harbour.

24 Apr 1804 J Nightingale, a seaman of the Pluto was Court Martialled and sentenced to 50 lashes due to his normally good conduct ; a shame there is no mention of his misdemeanor.

Circa 5 May 1804 Capt W H Kittoe, to the Pluto, vice Forbes, in consequence of an old wound from the last war showing unpleasant symptoms.

5 May 1804 departed Portsmouth harbour for Spithead.

Circa 19 May 1804 Capt Janverin of the Sea Fencibles at Brading, apptd to the Pluto, vice Capt W H Kittoe.

31 Jul 1804 in company with the Melpomene, Trusty, Ariadne, Magnanime, Meteor, Favorite, Merlin, Hecla, and Zebra, Locust Brig, and Nancy and King George Cutters captured the Postilion.

5 May 1804 went out of Portsmouth harbour to Spithead.

9 May 1804 departed Spithead on a cruise off Havre.

26 Jul 1804 arrived Spithead, the Pluto, Capt Janverin, brings an account of a more serious attack being made by Capt Oliver, of the Melpomene, and the Havre squadron, on the gun boats of that port, than any yet effected. The Squadron has been strengthened by the Trusty, Magnanime, Locust, Gun vessels, and Explosion, Zebra and Hecla, bombs.

Circa 22 Sep 1804 sent into Portsmouth harbour the Industry, bound from Lisbon to Dieppe, by the Pluto.

29 Sep 1804 arrived Spithead, the Pluto, Capt Janverin, off Havre.

17 Oct 1804 arrived Spithead from off Havre.

26 Oct 1804 arrived Spithead, the Pluto, Capt Janverin, from the Downs, with a Danish ship laden with naval stores and bound for a French port, which she detained.

27 Oct 1804 departed Spithead on a cruise.

9 Nov 1804 departed Spithead for off Havre.

9 Apr 1807 when in company with the cutter Sprightly captured the Hamburgh Brig Neuve Adler.

18 Sep 1816 put up for sale at Portsmouth, by auction at �1200, but bidding stopped at �950.

31 Aug 1817 Recently sold and under jury masts, from Portsmouth to London, got on shore on the Foreness Rock and has since filled with water.
