In the Acadian Recorder newspaper of 1 June 1816 the Portia is reported to have detained and sent into Shelburne, N.B., several American fishing vessels, in pursuance of the instructions given by Lord Bathurst, of 17 Jun 1815, which prohibit their taking fish in the bays &c., of these Provinces.
