Circa Feb 1833 the Nautical Magazine notes that Rear Admiral Sir F. L. Maitland, KCB., Admiral Superintendent of Portsmouth Dockyard has been flying his flag (blue at the mizen), on board the yacht Portsmouth whilst acting as Commander-in-Chief, Portsmouth, pro tempore, following the death of Admiral Sir Thomas Foley.

10 Aug 1839 Portsmouth The Hon. Admiral Bouverie returned last evening in the Portsmouth yacht, from a visit to Dublin.
