Notes:

19 Jun 1799 with the advanced division of the Mediterranean fleet, captured the French vessels Junon, Alceste, Courageuse, Salamine and Alerte, which were purchased into the Service, Junon being renamed Princess Charlotte.

4 Dec 1800 Portsmouth, arrived with dispatches from Lord Keith

14 Dec 1800 Portsmouth, departed for Chatham, to be repaired.

11 Aug 1801 remains at Sheerness.

16 Aug 1801 departed Sheerness on a cruise.

15 Aug 1801 passed through the Downs this morning to Portsmouth. [Yes I appreciate that the dates are in the wrong order, however I'd rather get the activities in the right order and worry about the dates later. Usual response - see ship's log for correct answer, to which I don't have access, even if it survives ?]

When in lat 49� 10' N., long 22� 30' W. fell in with British merchant vessels that had become detached from the Jamaica-England convoy in a gale, and escorted them into the Chops (entrance) to the English Channel.

30 Mar 1803 arrived Plymouth Sound from Ireland, the Princess Charlotte, Capt Gardner, with seamen and landsmen for the ships fitting out here.

2 Apr 1803 Adm. Keith was reported to have shifted his flag to the Princess Charlotte.

12 Apr 1803 Adm Lord Keith shifted his flag from the Princess Charlotte, to the main of Salvador del Mundo, now fitted for harbour service.

3 May 1803 was completely stripped and paid off in Hamoaze, at Plymouth, to be laid up in ordinary, her stores having been delivered to the appropriate dockyard departments. The ship's company have been given 14 days leave and given Admiralty tickets to save them problems with the press gangs.

14 May 1803 ordered to be prepared at Plymouth for commission as expeditiously as possible.

Circa 12 May 1804 Hon Capt F Gardner apptd to the Princess Charlotte.

Circa 9 Sep 1804 the Princess Charlotte and Pheasant are reported at Portsmouth to have departed Cork for the West Indies.

13 Dec 1804 captured the French privateer Regulus on the West Indies station.

21 Jan 1805 the schooner Gipsy, whilst waiting off Cape Antonio for the Princess-Charlotte, chased a privateer schooner on shore.

24 Jan 1805 Off Cape Antonio - Lieutenant Fitton of the Gypsy delivered to Captain Gardner the despatches with which he had been charged.

9 Oct 1805 captured the French ship-corvette, late British sloop, Cyane.

Deal 18 Jan 1810 arrived from the Baltic.

9 Jan 1811 captured the French privateer Aimable Flore at sea.

Plymouth 12 Jan 1811 Sent in the French privateer L'Aimable Flore captured after a long chase.

Plymouth 24 Jan 1811 departed on a cruise.

Plymouth 23 Feb 1811 arrived from a cruise.

Plymouth 25 Feb 1811 departed for the coast of France.

Portsmouth 6 Mar 1811 departed on a cruise.

Plymouth 22 Mar 1811 departed to the westward.

Plymouth 24 Mar 1811 departed on a cruise off Brest.

Plymouth 23 Mar 1811 arrived from a cruise and came into Barnpool to refit.

Corunna 5 Jun 1811 arrived to victual.

Plymouth Dock 9 Oct 1811 arrived from Corunna, and is in the Sound.

Plymouth 23 Oct 1811 Went up the harbour to refit.

Plymouth 28 Dec 1811 departed with a convoy for Corunna.

Plymouth 1 Feb 1812 Has detained and sent in the American schooner Milan.

1812 Princess Charlotte renamed Andromache.
