Circa 4 Aug 1804 Capt Wm Ferris apptd to the Proserpine, per Hampshire Telegraph of 6 Aug 1804. Although it is of interest to note that whilst Lieut King, of the Centaur was apptd to the command of the Drake on this date, in Sep 1804, a few weeks later, Capt Ferris was in command of the Drake when she was lost off the Island of Nevis ?
