Mar 1799 Capt. Broughton, of the Providence, which was wrecked to the southward of the island of Formosa has, after many hardships and difficulties, reached this country. He was on the voyage of discovery with Captain Vancouver. We learn with peculiar satisfaction, that though he lost everything else, he was fortunate enough to save his papers and charts.
