Hired : 1794 ; Disposal date or year : 1801
Notes:

Mar 1798 captured the hoy Vrouwe Gepka, C.P. Kramer, Master. Lieutenant J. Roberts, commanding officer.

1 Jan 1799 CO : - ; stationed : Downs and North Sea (N.C.).

Aug 1800 captured a French sloop, Les Deuz Amis, (Lieutenant William Gibbons, commanding officer).

Circa 12 Mar 1801 fleet under Admiral Sir Hyde Parker and Lord Nelson, consisting of 17 ships of the line, 3 frigates, 10 gun-brigs, nearly as many bomb-ketches, with smaller vessels usually attendant on a fleet, making in the whole nearly 50 sail, got under weigh from Yarmouth Roads at the break of day, and by eight o'clock had cleared the Sands ; they directed their course to the northward, wafted by a fine breeze at S.W. as departed from Yarmouth roads for Copenhagen (Naval Chronicle). On arrival at Copenhagen supported the ships-of-the-line as required.

6 May 1801 arrived the Downs, Lt Minster, from reconnoitring the ports and roads of Flushing, Ostend and Dunkirk. The former hired cutter Rose, of Dover, taken by Dutch bun vessels in the River Ems was seen at Ostend, as a privateer, and ready for sea.

22 May 1801 arrived yesterday afternoon in the Downs, from the Coast of Holland, and brings the following intelligence - that being off Flushing, with a view to watching the motions of the Dutch squadron apparently ready for sea, they early yesterday morning discovered a 64 gun ship, one frigate, a brig, and a number of gun-vessels under weigh from the above place ; but a squadron of H.M. ships from this station heaving in sight, the whole fleet run in, and brought up again. In consequence of this information Adm. Lutwidge has ordered to sea the Alonzo, Falcon, and Diligence, sloops of war, Locust and Ferreter, gun brigs, which sailed from the Downs last night ; this morning they are followed by the Autumn sloop, Mariner and Archer gun brigs. Should this force be fortunate enough to fall in with the enemy, although the latter be a superior force, little doubt can be entertained but that the issue of a battle would be a renewed proof of the invincibility of the British navy. The Queen spoke a Prussian brig from Flushing, from which they learned that the 64 gun ship and frigate were bound to the Texel, and the gun vessels to Dunkirk.

May 1801 prize money resulting from the capture of Les Deuz Amis, will be paid on the arrival of the Queen at Deal.

17 Jun 1801 departed the Downs the Ferreter, Gun Brig ; King George, Queen, and Kent, cutters ; Nile 3d, Resolution, luggers ; on a cruise.

19 Jun 1801 arrived at Yarmouth from the Baltic, to join Admiral Dickson's squadron, now blockading the Dutch Fleet in the Texel.

6 Jul 1801 departed the Downs with the homeward bound Oporto convoy for the Northward.

19 Jul 1801 arrived, the cutter Queen, Lt Minster, in Downs, with intelligence from the squadron off Boulogne, that some 24 French gun boats, &c., had been moved out of the harbour at about 4 a.m. Saturday, and were now anchored under the batteries, apparently waiting for instructions. The sloops Eugenie, Gannet and Hound, with 9 gun brigs, with the Cygnet cutter were watching off shore, in case they attempted to form a junction with similar vessels at Dunkirk.

1 Aug 1801 arrived in the Downs from off the coast of France and describes some of the apparent preparations the French are making for an invasion of England, not that England has anything to worry about, her commanding officer suggests.

1 Sep 1801 arrived at Dover an unnamed vessel laden with wine, attempting to go into Boulogne, detained by the York, and accompanied into Dover by the hired cutter Queen, Lt R.P. Minster.

25 Sep 1801 departed the Downs, the Savage, Capt Webley, and the armed cutter Queen, Lt Minster, on a cruise.

27 Sep 1801 in company with the Nile, lugger, was sent in close to enemy vessels anchored in Boulogne Bay, but were becalmed before they could close the enemy, who drew up their artillery along the shore, with support from the infantry behind them. At the same time the enemy slipped the cables of a brig and several luggers, crowded with men, to row out to meet the cutter and lugger, but a breeze blew up and the French returned to their anchorages, not apparently wishing to match themselves against the British under these conditions.

17 Feb 1810 prize money resulting from the capture of the Vrouwe Gepka will be paid at Deal.
