22 Jul 1797 Tisiphone and Rambler captured the French privateer Prosp�re on the Dogger Bank.

Copy of a Letter from Captain Honeyman, Commander of HM Sloop Tisiphone, to Evan Nepean, Esq., dated July 23, 1797.
Sir, Have the Honor of stating to you, for the Information of the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty, that having been ordered by Admiral Duncan to take HM Brig Rambler under my Command, and cruize on the Dogger Bank, I Yesterday, at Five A.M. in the Latitude of 54 deg. 30 min. the Rambler in Company, fell in with and captured, after a Chace of Half an Hour, Le Prosp�re, French Privateer Brig, mounting 14 Four-Pounders, and manned with 73 Men ; Four Days from Dunkirk, without capturing any thing. She received the Fire of several of our Guns, and struck without making any Resistance.
In consequence of the Number of Prisoners, I have thought it proper to proceed to the nearest Port to land them, and, after having so done, I shall proceed with all possible Dispatch to my Station.

23 Oct 1799 departed St John's, Newfoundland, with a convoy of 12 vessels for Lisbon, but parted from them in a gale off the Grand Bank, and had to throw her guns overboard.

29 Aug 1800 Portsmouth, arrived from a cruise, totally dismasted in a gale off the Race of Alderney, where she parted with the Fly, and a French privateer, which they captured on the coast.

17 Oct 1800 Portsmouth, departed with the Rowcliffe, and 4 transports under convoy, for Guernsey, with troops.

27 Oct 1800 Portsmouth, arrived with four transports, containing Dutch troops under convoy from Jersey.

15 Dec 1800 Portsmouth, arrived from Falmouth.

19 Dec 1800 Portsmouth, departed with the SeaGull, on a cruise, but a contrary wind caused them to return.

25 Jan 1801 departed Spithead on a cruise.

12 Feb 1801 arrived Plymouth Sound the Polly transport from Guernsey, under care of the Rambler cutter, with part of the 49th and 85th regiments, for Portsmouth, some of whom were on board the Denton transport when she was wrecked on the island of Guernsey on the 9 Feb., fortunately no lives were lost.

21 Feb 1801 arrived Spithead from Guernsey. She sailed from thence with several transports, with the 85th regiment on board, for the Isle of Wight, all of which, except one vessel, parted company in a gale of wind.

31 Mar 1801 departed Spithead with several transports for Jersey.

14 Apr 1801 arrived Spithead with the loss of her main-boom, carried away in chasing a French privateer.

28 Apr 1801 departed Spithead on a cruise.

1 Jul 1801 arrived Spithead from Jersey, to be docked, having been on a sunken rock near that place.

6 Aug 1801 departed Spithead on a cruise.

8 Aug 1801 arrived Spithead with the Seagull, from a cruise.

12 Aug 1801 appointed convoy for the Channel Isles.

27 Nov 1802 arrived Plymouth Sound from a cruise against smugglers.

1 Dec 1802 now lying betwixt the island and main, having been refitted in Stonehouse Pool, and waits for Admiralty Orders.

3 Dec 1802 the Rambler, 18, Captain Innes, parted one cable and drove, but letting go another cable and anchor, she also brought to in safety ; the sea ran still higher than last night, and was at one period of the most tremendous nature ; the wind at last veered round to W. then to W.N.W. and then N.N.W. and the weather began to moderate, that it appeared as if there had not been the least blowing weather.

3 Jan 1803 arrived Plymouth Sound from a cruise.

11 Jan 1803 on Sunday at noon, when in Dublin harbour during a fresh gale from the ESE, the Spitfire ran up the river and ended up tying up at the Custom-house, alongside the sloop Rambler.

12 Jan 1803 it is reported that she had parted 2 cables in Dublin harbour and considered it necessary to get to sea, and despite the bad weather achieved her objective with no problems.

2 Feb 1803 arrived Plymouth from Cork, Dublin and Waterford with volunteer seamen for the Courageux, and Culloden fitting for sea in Hamoaze.

6 Feb 1803 went into Barnpool to await orders.

16 Apr 1803 arrived Plymouth from Dublin, Cork and Waterford with 160 seamen and landmen, pressed and volunteers, for the Fleet.

1 Jun 1803 this afternoon the first signal of the war at Plymouth was hoisted for a convoy, on board the Rambler, Capt Innes, bound for Cork, which will depart on the first fair wind.

6 Jun 1803 sent into Plymouth the French brig la Paix, a prize to the Rambler.

7 Jul 1803 arrived Plymouth from a cruise.

11 Jul 1803 it is reported at Plymouth that the Rambler, Captain Innes, had recently detained the French ship Fanny ; and the Dutch ship Doornhaag.

30 Jul 1803 arrived Plymouth from a cruise.

10 Aug 1803 departed Plymouth Sound for Adm Cornwallis off Brest.

21 Sep 1803 arrived Plymouth the Rambler, Capt Innes, from a long cruise on the Irish station, and a few days later went up into Hamoaze to refit.

10 Oct 1803 the Fanny, French prize brig, taken some time since by the Rambler, laden with tobacco, has been taken out of the Catwater into the Sound with a view to sending her to London for sale, and now awaits a convoy.

16 Oct 1803 the Rambler, Capt Innes, went down from Stonehouse Pool, into the Sound, where she anchored and was approached by a boat, and weighed her anchor and returned to Stonehouse Pool, presumably to await orders?

18 Oct 1803 departed Plymouth on a cruise.

10 Dec 1803 came into Plymouth Sound, along with the Plover and Seagull, to escape the gales blowing up the Channel.

28 Sep 1810 detached from Gibraltar to capture a French privateer lying in the river Barbate.

Yarmouth 10 Sep 1811 departed to the westward.

Portsmouth 31 Jan 1812 departed for Cowes Roads.

Deal 26 Jan 1814 arrived this morning, and departed for the River, from the Cape.
