24 Nov 1849 the Constance had arrived Spithead, Portsmouth Saturday, departed Valparaiso 28 Aug, and Rio 12 Oct, to be paid off. It is reported that R.-Adm. Reynolds had arrived at Rio in the Southampton, 50, on 9 Oct., and would replace Commodore Herbert, then at BA. It is also reported that the tender Raneira had been sold at B.A.
