Note : originally designed and begun as a wooden line-of-battle ship, 3074 tons (old measurement), and 800 H.P. nom., but converted in accordance with an Admiralty Order of October 9, 1866, to an armour-plated ship of 6190 tons' displacement, and 3350 H.P.I. As adapted, she was a full-rigged broadside ship, with iron armour of a maximum thickness of 6 inches. She had a single screw, and a speed of about 12 knots.
