Portsmouth 26 Dec 1835 is reported to have chased and captured the French smuggling cutter Le Jean, of Cherbourg, in mid-Channel, During the chase the smugglers threw their cargo overboard.
13 Jun 1839 Lt. Peter P. Inskip, apptd. to the Royal George, based at Weymouth.
1 Aug 1842 still based at Weymouth, with Lt. Peter P. Inskip in command.
Mar 1843 Lieut. E G Elliott appointed from the Royal George to Oyster-haven.
Oct 1846 keeping a watching eye on The Great Britain, ashore in Dundrum Bay.
