Notes:

24 Feb 1793 captured the French privateer Custine in the North Sea.

16 Jan 1800 the frigate Nemesis, sloop Savage, lugger Nile, cutters Narcissus, Union, and Stag in sight of or involved in the capture of the French Privateer lugger Le Renard, 14 guns, 2 swivels, and 65 men, Jean Jacque Fourmintin, Master, Privateer lugger Le Modere, and recaptured the English brig Atlas, from Lisbon.

28 May 1800 a court martial was held at Sheerness, on board the Savage, sloop of war, on Lieutenant Wheatly and his Clerk, of the Gelykheidt prison ship, at Gillingham, for drunkenness and neglect of duty, ungentlemanlike conduct, embezzlement of stores, tyranny, and oppression, but the charges being malicious and ill founded, they were acquitted.

Circa 1 Aug 1800 Captain W. H. Webley is appointed to the command of his Majesty's sloop Savage, on the Irish station, in the room of Captain Norman Thompson, who is promoted to the rank of Post Captain.

23 Oct 1800 departed Plymouth with a convoy for the Downs.

30 Nov 1800 departed Plymouth on a cruise.

30 Dec 1800 departed Deal with a large convoy for Portsmouth.

5 Jan 1801 returned to the Downs due to a westerly gale.

8 Jan 1801 departed Deal on a cruise.

7 Feb 1801 the Gannet departed the Downs in company with the Savage on a cruise.

20 Feb 1801 arrived the Downs, the Savage, Eugenie, and Gier, sloops, from a cruise.

27 Feb 1801 remains in the Downs.

13 Mar 1801 the Savage remains in the Downs, bringing together the next outward bound convoy with the Gier and Racoon.

16 Mar 1801 the savage departed the Downs yesterday on a cruise, but today the wind blows hard from the S.W. and there are no movements.

5 Apr 1801 arrived in the Downs in the evening with three corn laden brigs, originally captured by a French lugger privateer, and then recaptured by the sloops Heldin and Savage. The Savage then went on to chase a French lugger with a brig in tow, but the lugger got under the cover of friendly gun batteries, and ending the chase.

8 Apr 1801 sailed late in the day with the outward convoy for Spithead and Portsmouth.

11 Apr 1801 departed the Downs with the hired armed ship Good Design and a convoy for Portsmouth ; the wind blows hard N.E.

13 Apr 1801 arrived Spithead in company with the Good Design, and a large convoy from the Downs, amongst which were several outward bound East Indiamen.

15 Apr 1801 departed Spithead for the Downs.

10 Jun 1801 Adm Lutwidge shifted his flag from the Overyusel to the Savage sloop of war. The Overyusel is to be sailed to Sheerness with the Beaver sloop.

17 Jun 1801 departed the Downs with the outward bound convoy to the Westward.

23 Jul 1801 arrived in the Downs, and departed with the Anacreon, brig, and a convoy for Portsmouth.

20 Aug 1801 departed the Downs for Sheerness.

23 Aug 1801 arrived Sheerness, the Savage, Capt Webley, with a fleet of victuallers from the Downs, and has now come into harbour to be repaired.

3 Sep 1801 arrived in the Downs from the Nore.

8 Sep 1801 reported to be back at Sheerness.

11 Sep 1801 a Court Martial was held on board the Waarzaamheid, at Sheerness, to try Mr. Palmer, Surgeon of the Savage sloop of war, for drunkenness and not attending to his duty. The charges being in part proved against him, he was dismissed from his situation as Surgeon, but allowed to serve as Surgeon's Mate in any of his Majesty's ships Admiral Graeme should think proper.

15 Sep 1801 on Sunday a boy belonging to the Savage sloop, laying in harbour at Sheerness, fell down the main hatchway : he was immediately taken to the Union hospital ship, but unfortunately he died within a few hours.

22 Sep 1801 arrived in the Downs from Sheerness the Savage.

25 Sep 1801 departed the Downs, the Savage, Capt Webley, and the armed cutter Queen, Lt Minster, on a cruise.

4 Oct 1801 departed Dover Roads on a cruise to the Westward.

11 Nov 1801 departed the Downs with the Dart on a cruise.

12 Dec 1801 arrived in the Downs, from a cruise.

20 Dec 1801 remains in the Downs.

Circa 17 Nov 1804 John Buttress convicted at the Maidstone Assizes of having assaulted John Jeggus, gunner of the Savage, and was sentenced to a year in prison.
