8 Mar to 2 Sep 1801 Services off the coast of Egypt, C. Patey.

20 May 1801 the hired armed brig Sir Sydney Smith, [as she's described here,] is now being made ready in Stonehouse Pool to take despatches for Gen Hutchinson and Adm Lord Keith, out to Egypt.

24 May 1801 departed Plymouth Sound the Sir Sidney Smith, 14 guns, Lt Patey, with dispatches for Egypt.

9 Oct 1801 arrived Falmouth the Sir Sidney Smith, Lt Patey, with dispatches from Egypt, which once fumigated were forwarded to London. She has been 12 weeks on passage, and is now under quarantine.
