12 Jul 1841 the Speedwell, cutter, was purchased into the service for �900 0s. 0d, and included in a return to Parliament dated 5 Mar 1847, detailing all the vessels purchased into the Service by the Admiralty since 1830 - Accounts and Papers for the House of Commons Vol. 37.

3 Aug 1841 arrived at Woolwich from the North Sea and is expected to sail Sunday for Harwich.
