Disposal Details : Captured February 10, by Rear-admiral Ganteaume, Mediterranean. Lieut Robert Jump (Vol iii, Appendix No 16) and reportedly sunk.
Notes:

19 Sep 1800 arrived Plymouth, the Sprightly cutter, Lt Robert Jump, from Jamaica, in 45 days, with the mails and passengers.

26 Sep 1800 arrived Plymouth, from a cruise.

21 Oct 1800 in dock at Plymouth refitting.

20 Jan 1801 departed Plymouth Sound to unknown station with the King's proclamation for stopping all Russian, Danish, and Swedish vessels.

10 Feb 1801 captured and scuttled by a French squadron.

20 Feb 1801 sent into Plymouth Sound the French brig Jupiter, laden with wine &c., from Bourdeaux to Bayonne, detained in the Bay, by the Sprightly cutter, Lt R. Jump.

23 Apr 1801 arrived Plymouth Sound the Speedwell armed schooner, Lieutenant Tomlinson, from Rhodes, with dispatches, which were landed at Mount's Bay, with Lieutenant Tomlinson, who set off express for London. He touched at Mahon, and brought passenger Lieutenant Jump, late of the Sprightly cutter, sunk by Gantheaume's squadron in the Straits before the Speedwell left Minorca.

6 May 1801 a Court-Martial was held on board the Gladiator, on Captain Dun, for the loss of HM ship Incendiary, which was taken by Admiral Gantheaume's squadron, in the Mediterranean. Lieutenant Jump, Commander of the Sprightly cutter, was also tried for her being taken by the same squadron. They were both acquitted.
