26 Apr 1802 departed Spithead to the Eastward.

4 May 1802 arrived Spithead the Censor, Bold, with the Starling, gun-vessels, from the Eastward.

13 May 1802 arrived Spithead, the frigates Beaulieu, Penelope and Ambuscade with naval stores from Marcou. The Starling, gun vessel, was left at Marcou, waiting for the Commander of Marines to complete the business at Marcou by returning the Island to the French later today.

19 May 1802 arrived Spithead from Marcou.

18 Jul 1802 departed Spithead with discharged seamen, for Ireland.

19 Aug 1802 came into Portsmouth harbour.

6 Sep 1802 went out of harbour to Spithead the Starling gun-vessel.

23 Sep 1802 departed Spithead the Starling gun-vessel for Jersey, to fetch the stores, &c. saved from La Pomone, aground in St. Aubin's Bay, Jersey. The Pomone frigate, Captain Gower, which sunk in St. Aubin's Bay, has been weighed, and towed into Jersey. Several artificers from Plymouth are ordered from the dock yard to repair her.

1 Oct 1802 arrived Spithead, the Starling, from Jersey and she will sail again tomorrow for the same place, with two companies of shipwrights and artificers to repair the Pomone, which was reported to have been refloated.

8 Oct 1802 arrived Spithead from Jersey.

9 Feb 1803 arrived Spithead, the Starling, Lt Guyon, from the Eastward.

11 Feb 1803 departed Spithead for Weymouth.

24 May 1803 arrived Spithead, from a cruise.

26 May 1803 departed Spithead on a cruise.

1 Jun 1803 arrived Spithead from Guernsey.

2 Jun 1803 departed Spithead for the Downs with a convoy.

18 Jun 1803 the Egyptian, Welch, arrived back at Portsmouth having been captured by a French privateer and retaken by the Starling, whilst the Starling went in chase of the privateer and a West Indiaman and a Collier that it was reputed to have also taken.

25 Jun 1803 Hydra, in company with the hired cutter Rose captured the French privateer Phoebe, 4 guns, 2 swivels, and 33 men, off Cherbourg from which she'd departed 7 days earlier, prior to detaining the Diana of London ; the brig William of Sunderland ; and the brig Egyptian of Waterford, in ballast, all of which were re-captured by the Starling, and are now arrived at Portsmouth.

29 Jun 1803 arrived Spithead from a cruise with 2 vessel retaken.

6 Jul 1803 departed Spithead on a cruise.

22 Jul 1803 arrived Spithead from a cruise.

23 Jul 1803 departed Spithead on a cruise.

5 Aug 1803 arrived Spithead, the Starling, Lieut Guyon, from a cruise.

10 Aug 1803 following the sound of guns warning of a French invasion Adm Holloway shifted his flag from the Gladiator to the Magnificent at St Helen's, and put to sea ; with the Orpheus, Galatea, and Starling. Following a night of many alarms and excursions the warning turned out to have been caused by the approach of a fleet of coasters, in company with several American vessels.

11 Aug 1803 departed Spithead on a cruise.

29 Aug 1803 arrived Spithead from a cruise, and ordered to be victualled for foreign service.

30 Aug 1803 departed to the Eastward.

6 Sep 1803 the Lark and the Starling departed the Downs for Portsmouth.

8 Sep 1803 arrived Spithead from the Downs.

20 Sep 1803 departed Spithead with a convoy of transports containing the 31st, 46th, and 91st regts., for Jersey and Guernsey.

5 Oct 1803 departed Spithead on a cruise.

12 Oct 1803 remain in the Downs the Monarch, Right Hon Adm Lord Keith ; Utrecht, R.-Adm Montague, Capt Rogers ; Diana, Capt Maling ; Ranger, sloop, Capt Coats ; Squirrel ; Autumn, Capt Jackson ; Vesuvius, Capt O'Brien, bomb ; Sulphur, Capt M'Leod ; Archer, Conflict, Monkey, and Sterling [Ed should probably read Starling], gun brigs ; the latter from a cruise, per The Times of 14 Oct 1803.

17 Oct 1803 arrived in the Downs from a cruise, the Starling, Lieut Guyon.

21 Oct 1803 the Starling has made a signal for a convoy to the North.

24 Oct 1803 has departed for Leith with a convoy, but came to anchor in the evening.

25 Oct 1803 the Starling and her convoy departed again for Leith.

15 Nov 1803 departed the Downs for the Nore with French prisoners taken from a French gun boat.

17 Nov 1803 arrived in the Downs the Champion and Starling from the Nore.

18 Nov 1803 remains in the Downs the Monarch, Utrecht, Raisonable, Magicienne, Squirrel, Amaranthe, Champion, Vulture, Hound, Merlin sloops ; Perseus, and Fury, bombs ; Seaflower, brig ; Starling, gun brig ; Findon, hired sloop, and the transports Plymouth, Supply, and Sussex Oak.

20 Nov 1803 observed to be off Dungeness, under a press of sail, flying a signal for the Leopard, which had just departed Dungeness ; and having made her signal stood for the Downs.

2 Dec 1803 departed the Downs on a cruise off Ostend.

18 Dec 1804 went ashore on Tuesday in thick weather, near Calais, and was burnt by Lieut Guyon and crew to avoid capture.
