1 Jul 1797 Tartar and Sparrow captured the French privateers Resolu Port au Platte, and Revanche Port au Platte, St. Domingo.

1 Jan 1799 CO : Lt J Skinner ; stationed : Plymouth (N.C.).

14 Jun 1799 departed Plymouth for Cork with a convoy for that port.

13 Aug-Oct 1799 employed on expedition to Holland.

28 Aug 1799 capture of the Dutch hulks Drotchterland and Brooderschap, and the ships Helder, Venus, Minerva, and Hector, in the New Diep, in Holland.

4 Feb 1801 arrived Dartmouth from Spithead.

30 Jul 1801 arrived Spithead with the Alert cutter, from the Downs.

6 Aug 1801 departed Spithead, for S. Yarmouth, to take a convoy from thence to Jersey.

24 Feb 1802 prize money resulting from the capture of the Dutch hulks Drotchterland and Brooderschap, and the ships Helder, Venus, Minerva, and Hector due to be paid.

Circa 25 May 1802 Captain Inglis, of the Vanguard, apptd to the Tartar.

Circa 25 May 1802 Captain Walker, of the Tartar, apptd to the Vanguard.

17 Nov-30 Dec 1802 prize money resulting from the expedition to Holland due for payment.
