28 Dec 1797 captured the French privateer Victoire 4 leagues from the Spurn Light.

20 Feb 1799 Portsmouth, arrived from the Downs.

19 Mar 1799 at Spithead.

7 Apr 1799 Plymouth, hove in sight the Boston, and Termagant, with the American convoy for Halifax, New York, Boston, and Charlestown. Two Americans here got under weigh, and the whole proceeded down Channel.

10 Apr 1799 Plymouth, returned the outward bound American fleet, under convoy of the Boston and Termagant. [Bad weather, or wind blowing in the wrong direction ? Ed.]

13 Apr 1799 Plymouth, made the signal for the American convoy to get under weigh. At twelve at noon most of the fleet got out of Catwater, and at eight P. M. the whole were clear of Pontal Point, with a fine leading wind.

21 Mar 1800 Portsmouth, a Court Martial was held on board his Majesty's ship Gladiator, for the trial of William Webb, Boatswain's Mate of the Termagant, for desertion. The prisoner was found guilty, and sentenced to receive two hundred lashes, on board or alongside such ship or ships as the Commander in Chief should direct. But, in consideration of his very exemplary character, on trying occasions, the Court recommended him to the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty as an object of mercy.

30 Jun 1800 Portsmouth, arrived with the Terpsichore, and Ash brig, from a cruise.

5 Aug 1800 Portsmouth, departed with the Dictator, Delft, Trusty, Astrea, Fury, and Tortoise, on a secret expedition.

11 Aug 1800 Portsmouth, departed with dispatches for Lord Keith.

1 Sep 1800 30 leagues to the westward of Corsica, chased and captured a French national polacre, called Capricieuse commanded by Citizen Grandferrand, Enseigne de Vaisseau, 6 guns, and 68 men, victualled for two months, bound from Toulon to Egypt with 350 stand of arms, shot, a French general and a Chef de Batailion ; but the dispatches, except the two letters, had been destroyed.

4 Sep 1800 captured the French privateer General Holtz, 2 Guns and 26 Men, which was scuttled.

5 Dec 1800 in company with the Port Mahon captured, on the Mediterranean station, a vessel, Name unknown, laden with Corn.

12 Jan 1801 in company with the Port Mahon captured, on the Mediterranean station, the French Zebeck Guerrier, laden with Arms and Ammunition, from Toulon bound to Alexandria.

8 Mar to 2 Sep 1801 Services off the coast of Egypt.

29 Apr 1801 the French aviso La Prudente, from Ancona bound to Alexandria, laden with provisions, powder, arms, and troops ; taken by the Penelope, Determin�e, and Termagant.

29 Jun 1801 cruising off Alexandria, per UK newspapers of this date, reporting news received from off Egypt.

Circa 13 Jul 1802 Captain J. Stuart, apptd to the Termagant.

Circa 21 Nov 1802 Lieutenant C. Foote, who was lately acting commander of the Termagant sloop, is promoted to the rank of Commander.

17 Feb 1803 a letter, as dated, received Portsmouth circa 15 Aug 1803, from Ceylon, advises that Capt Horsey had died on 4th ult.

9 Jul 1803 a letter as dated from the Superb reports being 2 miles from Toulon, and that they've been cruising off the port for 2 months ; and that the squadron consists of the following vessels : Kent, Donegal, Superb, Triumph, Monmouth, Gibraltar, Agincourt, Belleisle, Renown ; and the frigates Medusa, and Amphion ; with the Termagent sloop ; and Weasel brig.

Circa 15 Aug 1803 Hon Capt Elliott apptd to the Termagant.

6 Dec 1804 arrived Spithead from Newfoundland, last from Lisbon with a convoy, the Aurora, Capt Malbon. She fell in with the Termagent sloop, which had spoken with Sir John Orde's squadron, off Cadiz on the 18th ult. The Sophie was waiting in the Tagus to proceed with dispatches for Lord Nelson.

25 Jun 1805 Termagant joined Nelson's fleet with intelligence.

2 Jan 1807 arrived Sheerness.

10 Jan 1810 departed Sheerness for Portsmouth.

27 Jan 1810 departed Falmouth with a convoy for Spain, Portugal and the Mediterranean.

May 1812 the Hyacinth, Termagant and Basilisk collaborate with the Spanish on the coast of Grenada, in expelling the French from their country.

22 Jul 1812 captured the French privateer Intrepide.

19 Sep 1812 Remained Gibraltar.

28 May 1813 Operating in the Mediterranean.

1 Aug 1814 departed Genoa.

22 Sep 1814 arrived on the Motherbank for quarantine on arrival off Portsmouth from the Mediterranean.

24 Sep 1814 released from quarantine and went across to Spithead.

6 Oct 1814 departed Spithead for the Downs.

8 Jan 1815 Came down to Deal from the river, and departed for Portsmouth.

9 Jan 1815 arrived Spithead from the Downs.

1 Feb 1815 departed Spithead with dispatches for the Cape of Good Hope.

29 Aug 1815 departed Madras for Mauritius.

23 Aug 1815 arrived in Madras roads from Trincomalee.

20 Mar 1816 reported to be at Madras.
