� Shown as Tarrier in the Naval Chronicle for 1799 p. 264, but as Terrier in Rif Winfield's British Warships in the Age of Sail 1793-1817 9. 418. The capture of the Sans Pareil was also recorded against the Terrier by her commanding officer in the London Gazette, so Tarrier would appear to be a misprint ?

8 Apr 1798 this Evening, Ostend bearing S.S.E. 7 Leagues, captured the French schooner privateer Sans Pariel, 1 x 6 Pounder and 8 Swivels, 21 Men, and commanded by M. Jacques Francois Dor�, from Ostend, not taken anything. Tho. Lowen.

1 Jan 1799 Lt James Mein ; Master - ; stationed Ramsgate ; built 1798 (N.C.)

26 Mar 1800 the Terrier, Lieutenant R. Donovan, employed for some time off Dunkirk with the sloops Plover and Atalante, watching the 4 French frigates which are reported to have been in the harbour there about 2 years.
