17 Aug 1796 Simon's bay, Cape of Good Hope. Was present at the capitulation of the Dutch squadron, greatly out-gunned by a much larger British squadron.

Circa Oct-Nov 1801 John Turnor, Esq. brother of the Rev. Mr. Turnor, of Hammersmith. He died on board the Trident man of war, of 64 guns ; to the command of which he was promoted from the Carysfort frigate, in 1799.

Circa 24 Apr 1802 Lieutenant W. Henderson, of the Trident, apptd to be Lieutenant of the Fox.

Circa 24 Apr 1802 P. Heywood, Esq. Commander of the Trincomalee, apptd to be Captain of the Trident, in the vacancy occasioned by Captain H. L. Ball's return to England upon his private concerns.

22 May 1802 the Victorious arrived Madras Roads with the Intrepid, Sybille, Leopard, Trident, Eurydice, and Albatross.

5 Jul 1803 with France attempting to recover her war-time losses in the East Indies news that a renewal of the war was imminent brought about a number of manoeuvres and events between the French and British ships-of-war on the station.
