27 Jul 1837 former G.P.O. wooden paddle packet Collonsay purchased into the service for �26,000., and included in a return to Parliament dated 5 Mar 1847, detailing all the vessels purchased into the Service by the Admiralty since 1830 - Accounts and Papers for the House of Commons Vol. 37, although some sources, such as Colledge, suggest that she was transferred by the P.O., which would appear to be wrong.
