2 Feb 1794 Vice-admiral Sir John Jervis departed from Barbadoes with a fleet, including the Vengeance, Commodore Charles Thompson, Captain Lord Henry Paulet, for Martinique. Seamen from many of the ships played an important role in moving heavy guns over difficult terrain and in the various assaults required to subdue the Island. Elements from the fleet then went on to take Sainte-Lucie, Guadeloupe, and other islands, in subsequent months.

March and April 1794, operations at the Islands of Martinique, St. Lucia, and Guadaloupe.

5 Jun - 3 Jul 1794 the arrival of a French squadron in the resulted in a number of movements and operations by the ships Boyne, Veteran, Winchelsea, Nautilus, Vanguard, Vengeance, Solebay and Winchelsea.

Feb 1797 capture of the Island of Trinidad, along with the San-Damaso, 74, and induced the destruction of 3 Spanish ships of the line and a frigate.

Apr 1797 abortive attack on Porto-Rico.

The [merchant] fleet which departed from the Leeward Islands 9 May 1799 under convoy of the Vengeance, Pearl, and Perdrix, consisted as follows :� 123 sail for London, 93 for Liverpool, 18 for Bristol, 23 for Scotland, 8 for Lancaster, 7 for Ireland, 18 for America, 1 for Africa, and 9 transports, making in all 260. The whole of the vessels for England, Scotland, and Ireland, are safely arrived.

2 Jul 1799 Plymouth, passed up the Channel the Jamaica fleet, all well.

1 - 2 May 1800 prize money resulting from the operations at the Islands of Martinique, St. Lucia, and Guadaloupe due for payment.

11 Jan 1801 in ordinary at Portsmouth, ordered to be repaired for commission.

25 Jan 1801 at Portsmouth. Sir A. S. Hamond and Sir William Rule arrived here on the 19th, and went off for London on the 22d, after surveying, in company with Commissioner Sir Charles Saxton, the whole of the ships in ordinary ; and ordered the following to be repaired and ready for commission in six weeks at farthest the Brunswick, Bellerophon, Goliath, Vengeance, Vanguard, and Hannibal.

11 Apr 1801 departed Spithead to join the North Sea Fleet.

16 Apr 1801 arriving the Downs from the west, sailed though for N. Yarmouth.

21 Apr 1801 departed N. Yarmouth this morning a squadron for the Baltic under the command of Adm. Totty in the Zealous, with the Powerful, Vengeance, 74s ; Ruby, 64 ; Alkmaar, Hospital Ship ; Pomone, frigate ; Vesuve, Wrangler, Ready, Safeguard, Pincher, Eclipse, Boxer, Plumper, Griper, Adder and Cracker gun vessels ; Drake, cutter ; Prince William, hired armed ship.

24 Aug 1801 remains at Spithead.

7 Sep 1801 dropped down from Spithead, to the shelter of St Helen's, with a view to joining the Channel Fleet when the weather improves.

8 Sep 1801 departed St Helen's, the Vengeance, Capt Duff, to join the Channel Fleet.

8 Nov 1801 the Resolution, and the Vengeance, were embayed with the Orion, but it is hoped, though on a lee shore, they were able to claw off the land, not having been disabled by the gale at west, which was a perfect hurricane for the time it lasted.

11 Nov 1801 the Malta, Resolution, and Vengeance, had not joined the detached squadron at Bantry Bay.

17 Nov 1801 Admiral Sir A. Mitchell made the signal for unbending sails, which was followed by the fleet, therefore it is supposed the squadron which consists of the following ships will winter near Beerhaven, in Bantry Bay, viz. Windsor Castle, Temeraire, Barfleur, Princess Royal, Formidable, Atlas, Namur, Majestic, Resolution, Vengeance, Malta, of 84 guns, Centaur. The Glory, had put into Cork, and the Juste, had not joined. Provisions were plenty : a fat sheep nine shillings, Geese one shilling each, eggs two-pence per dozen, and fish and game to be had in great abundance.

17 Nov 1801 letters received Plymouth from the Namur, dated the 9th instant, from Bantry Bay, state, that the Vengeance, and Resolution, had arrived safe there, after experiencing dreadful gales of wind in the storm of the 1st instant, when embayed with the Orion, on the west coast of Ireland.

6 Dec 1801 letters received Plymouth this day from the Namur, dated the 26th ult. state, that the fleet off Beerhaven were all well, and that the following ships had been victualled for five months, and were to sail soon with sealed orders, viz. Temeraire, Windsor Castle, Resolution, Vengeance, Majestic, and Centaur. Their destination is supposed for Jamaica.

1 Jan 1802 arrived Spithead the Vengeance, 74, Captain Duff, which parted from her squadron, from Bantry Bay.

5 Jan 1802 the Temeraire, out at Spithead with the Formidable, Majestic, Theseus, Orion, Resolution, Vengeance and Resistance, are ordered to refit and victual for the West Indies, with all possible haste.

7 Feb 1802 departed St. Helen's the Temeraire, 98, R.-Adm Campbell, Capt Eyles ; Formidable, 98, Capt Grindall ; Majestic, 74, Capt Gould ; Orion, 74, Capt Cuthbert ; Vengeance, 74, Capt Duff ; Resolution, 74, Capt Gardner ; Theseus, 74, Capt Bligh ; Desiree, 44, Capt Dacres ; and the Morgiana, store ship, 16, Capt Otter ; with sealed orders, supposed for Jamaica.

9 Feb 1802 owing to the contrary winds, rain and bad weather, put into Torbay : the Temeraire, Formidable, Theseus, Majestic, Orion, Vengeance, Resolution, Desiree, and Morgiana, and departed later for their destination.

17 May 1802 the Morgiana sloop of war, Captain Otter, arrived Spithead from Martinique, after a passage of 45 days, and reports that the Temeraire, Vengeance, Formidable, Resolution, Majestic, Theseus, and Desiree, under the command of R.-Adm. Campbell, departed Martinique, for Jamaica, a few days prior to her departure for England.

13 May 1802 the Brunswick, Bellona, Vengeance, Orion, Defence, Edgar, Elephant, Powerful, and Carnatic departed Jamaica for England.

24 Jun 1802 arrived St Helen's this morning and later in the day was brought up to Spithead the Vengeance, 74, Captain Duff, from Jamaica, in company with the Bellona, Brunswick, Orion, after a passage of 6 weeks. The Defence, Edgar, Elephant, Powerful, and Carnatic came home with them, the four former vessels having been sent to the Eastward to be paid off, the latter being sent in to Plymouth.

1 Jul 1802 Came into Portsmouth harbour to be paid off.

8 Jul 1802 the Bellona, Orion, Vengeance, and Brunswick, have been paid off at Portsmouth this week, and laid up in ordinary.

May 1805 Portsmouth, to repair in Ordinary.

Portsmouth 3 Nov 1811 departed for off Cherbourg.
