8 Jun 1801 the Vadette [should probably be Vidette) and Speedwell brigs, with the cutter Drake departed N. Yarmouth on a cruise.

22 Jun 1801 per the London Courier and Evening Gazette of 24 Jun 1801 ; yesterday the Vidette brig, Lt Gessett, a convoy departed Whitebooth Roads (Hull), but due to contrary winds are understood to be still in the R. Humber.

26 Jun 1801 at last, the London Courier etc., as dated, reports that Adm. Dickson, FO North Sea, has appointed H.M. hired armed brig Vidette, Capt Harrington, to cruise for the protection of the trade of the coast, between Tynemouth and Berwick-upon-Tweed. She lies low in the water, has black sides, and mounts fourteen 18 pounders.

30 Jun 1801 departed Hull for sea on Wednesday morning, 24 Jun, with a convoy for the Hamburgh, Bremen and Emden ships.

10 Jul 1801 arrived N. Yarmouth.

26 Jul 1801 remains N. Yarmouth.

2 Aug 1801 departed N. Falmouth with a convoy of Hamburgh ships bound to Hull.

30 Sep 1801 arrived N. Yarmouth from a cruise, the St Alban's, the sloop Ariadne, hired brig Vidette with 2 prizes, lugger Lady Ann, and hired armed cutter Griffin.

8 Oct 1801 arrived N. Yarmouth from a cruise.

18 Oct 1801 departed N. Yarmouth on a cruise.

18 Nov 1801 arrived N. Yarmouth, the Vidette, brig ; Lark, lugger ; Trial, cutter ; Inspector, sloop ; Meteor, gun-brig ; Sally, Hermes, and Wright, armed ships ; from a cruise.

22 Nov 1801 remains in N. Yarmouth Roads with the Blenheim and fleet. Wind NNW.
