20 Jun 1835 purchased into the service for �369 : 12s. 2d., and included in a return to Parliament dated 5 Mar 1847, detailing all the vessels purchased into the Service by the Admiralty since 1830 - Accounts and Papers for the House of Commons Vol. 37.

29 Mar 1840 Woolwich the Mastiff and the Fairy surveying vessels, and the Violet and Woodlark tenders, are to leave for their summer survey on the 7th of next month ;

31 Dec 1840 Woolwich. 9 men of the crew of the Fairy, lost in November, who were on board the Violet, tender, were paid today.
