24 Jun 1797 captured the French privateer Espoir in the North Sea.

2 Jul 1797 captured the French privateer Graces near Harwich.
The following appeared in the London Gazette :
Copy of a Letter from Mr. Robert Adams, Commander of the Viper Excise Cutter, to Evan Nepean, Esq; dated at Harwich, July 5, 1797,
Sir, I Have the Honour to inform you, that the Viper Cutter, under my Command, being on a Cruize on the 2d Instant, at One P. M. after a Chace of Two Hours, captured on the Shore near Ciackton, in the Wallet, Les Graces, French Lugger Privateer, mounting 1 Two-Pounder and Two Swivels, in Carriages, which were thrown overboard in the Chace, the Small Arms remain on Beard. Les Graces departed from Dunkirk on the 1st Instant, under the Command of Guillaume Gaspard Malo, and Twenty-two Men, and had taken nothing. The Enemy fled into the Country immediately on their landing, but being pursued by the Cutter's Crew, assisted to the utmost by the Inhabitants and Troops on the Coast, the French Commander, with Twenty of his Crew, were secured, and are now safely lodged in the Prison at this Place. I have the Honour to be, &c. Robert Adams.

13 Feb 1801 the revenue cutters Argus, Lively, and Viper, detained, off Harwich, the French privateer Sans Peur, 6 guns, 5 of which were thrown overboard in the chase, 18 men, of Dunkirk, Citizen Job Bunker, master ; she departed the Helder last Monday and hasn't taken anything. She was reported to have been laying off the entrance to the harbour, within a large fleet of merchantmen, and it was considered fortunate that she had been discovered, otherwise there was no knowing how many vessels she might have taken.

2 Oct 1801 yesterday the French privateer Racroisure, Joseph Brequante, master, captured the brig Nancy, of Lynn, between Lowestoffe and Orfordness. The Viper re-captured the Nancy, and brought her into Harwich with her crew of 4 French prisoners, her British crew having been taken away in the Racroisure. Wind S.

Harwich 31 Dec 1806 departed.

3 Apr 1813 captured the French privateer Louise off the North Foreland.

Harwich 5 Apr 1813 arrived the Viper revenue cutter, with the French cutter privateer, Louise, taken between Folkstone and Calais, after a long chase.

Circa 31 Dec 1814 under the command of Edw. Morgan, and responsible to the English Board.
