30 Nov 1804 departed the Downs the Champion, frigate, and Vulture, sloop, with a large convoy of merchant ships, transports, coasters, and colliers, for Spithead. I see also that the Aurora of Dover ; Industry of Sunderland, and two collier brigs were on shore on the beach, the coal of one collier entirely lost, and it is hoped to save the cargo for the second collier, all of which perhaps explains the large size of the convoy, which had probably been growing in size as a result of the recent awful weather.
