Circa 1 Sep 1816 under the command of James Downe, based on the Leith Station, and responsible to the Admiralty.

4 Dec 1822 James Melville apptd, to the Wellington, based at Stranraer.

Jul 1830 Revenue Vessel - Scotland.

Stranraer 9 Oct 1837 has towed in the Marquis of Stafford, en route for Glasgow, dismasted in a squall yesterday.

1 Aug 1842 based at Stranraer, James Melville still in command.

20 Dec 1848 Revenue Vessel.

Sep 1858 discovered a part of a wreck off the Kish bank and attempted to tow it back to Kingstown, but the weather prevented her from achieving this, and it had to be abandoned.
