The Kestrel - Manslaughter Charges

The Kestrel. Mr. R. N. Beauvais, commander, and Mr. W. Dobson. first mate of the ship Kestrel, have been committed to take their trial at Melbourne for the manslaughter of a lascar during the voyage from Manila to Port Phillip. According to the evidence adduced, the treatment of the lascars during the passage was of the most brutal description.
