His Excellency the Governor-General has, by a proclamation in the Government Gazette, declared and ordered that Nobby Island, within or near the harbour or roadstead of Newcastle, " bounded on the south-east, east and north by the South Pacific Ocean ; on the west by the waters of Port Hunter ; and on the south-west by the northern termination of the Newcastle Breakwater, " shall be a station and place for the performance of quarantine, according to the several provisions of the Act Will. IV., and subject to the several rules, regulations, and restrictions contained therein.
