The Steamer Leichardt

Index

This new vessel, which was built in Mr. Fletcher's yard, had her engines tried on Saturday last, when they were found to work easily and satisfactorily. They are of the collective force of 60 horse-power, and were made by Messrs. Fawcett Preston and Co., of Liverpool ; the tubular boiler is fitted with a number of brass tubes, which it is calculated will be a greet saving in fuel. This vessel is built expressly for river navigation, and from her appearance she seems admirably suited for that purpose.- Adelaide Times.
