(From our Correspondent.)

Little news to communicate, everything going on as quietly as ever. The Marquesas have been abandoned by the French, the frigate Syrene, 56 guns; corvette, 32 ; schooner Papeite, 4 ; arrived on Tuesday with the remainder of the troops, stores, &c� nothing but 1500 tons coals left. The Sarah Anne, from Sydney, Russell, sailed for California, fourteen days ago: all well.

The Cheerful, Ogilvy, owner, put is here, out of every thing, and obtained a bottomry for 2000 dollars, refreshed, and put to sea.

The schooner Will Watch, from Sydney, Mr. Hovenden, owner, is here ; it is said he is endeavouring to dispose of her and her cargo, and in treaty for another vessel. The brig Rosalind, of London, which tailed on the reef and was condemned, was sold by auction for five hundred pounds to Captain Hunter, a resident, who is preparing to heave her down.

The schooner Sultana, formerly the property of Captain Scott, is about to be converted into a powder magazine by the Government.

There are only two American whalers, and one French, in the harbour. The John Williams, Missionary barque, is hourly expected from the Navigators.

We have Auckland papers early in December; by the yacht Wanderer, B. Boyd, Esq., which arrived, after a passage of eighteen days from Auckland via Tabouia and Matea ; she sails in a few days for the Marquesas, Sandwich Islands, and California. The French force here at present is about 1400 troops, one 56 gun frigate ; one corvette, 32 ; one steam frigate; and a small schooner; and until yesterday the Kamehameha yacht taken from the King of the Sandwich Islands. which has proceeded on an excursion to the Leeward Islands.

The Governor still continues popular with all classes.
