The first clause enacts, that as soon as these Light Houses or either of them shall have come into actual operation, and from and after one month after the publication of a notice to that effect, the master or commander of every ship or vessel arriving at or departing from any port in New South Wales, shall pay to the Chief Officer of Customs for such port the sum of one penny per ton of the registered measurement of such ship or vessel for each of the said light-houses which such ship or vessel may have passed, or may pass, provided always that vessels employed in the colonial or coasting trade, or trade with any of the Australasian Colonies, shall be charged with one-third only of the rate aforesaid.

The second clause exempts all vessels trading with Van Diemen's Land, or engaged in the fisheries, from any such dues.

The third clause enacts that this Act shall not in any way affect dues payable under the 3d Wm. IV. No. 6, an d 7 Vic. No. 9.
